"We find it most intolerable that we who sit on oil should be one of the poorest, if not the poorest, people in the country." - Ken Saro Wiwa

Ogoni Martyrs Remembrance Day

30 Years of Resistance, Remembrance & Resilience

Boston, MA | November 7–9, 2025

About the Event

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the execution of the Ogoni 9 — a group of environmental activists led by Ken Saro-Wiwa who gave their lives fighting against the destruction of Ogoniland by oil multinationals.

Join us in Boston for a weekend of reflection, remembrance, and action. Through dialogue, art, and advocacy, we will honor their legacy and strengthen the movement for environmental justice and human rights.

This is more than a memorial — it’s a movement.
